Central Drama Players

Formed in 2006, Central Drama Players is Central Elementary' after school award-winning Drama Club. Fifth and sixth grade students meet once a week to learn theater arts and prepare for our yearly Broadway, Jr musical production. Theater sponsor and director, teacher Patsy Riley and assistant, teacher Amy Murphey guide students through choreography, singing, and acting instruction.

Each Spring's production at the Graves County Performing Arts Center consists of a daytime matinee performance for Central Elementary students and staff and an evening performance for the public. The Drama Club is funded through fund-raising projects.

Each January, Central Drama Players travel to Atlanta by invitation to attend the Junior Theater Festival sponsored by Disney, MTI (Music Theater International), Playbill, and NBC. We perform for adjudicators for awards and attend classes by Broadway Professionals.
